Trump is set to meet Irish President Catherine Connolly and Prime Minister Micheal Martin to discuss economic ties and foreign policy concerns surrounding the Iran war. The visit coincides with US Republican campaigning for the upcoming midterm elections alongside planned anti-war protests in Dublin and western Ireland .
Economic ties remain a key priority for both nations, with US-owned companies employing approximately 10 per cent of the Irish workforce. Trump is expected to attend the Irish Open tournament at his Doonbeg resort on Sunday to present the trophy to the champion.
